What once might have passed for a living space for metahumans is barely a free standing structure any more. Held up mostly by it's proximity to it's neighbors, the building is run down and hasn't seen repairs since people paid more then 'protection' money to live there. A few hundred nuyen a month gets you permission from the local gang that lives in the building to stay there as well, just don't expect privacy or some measure of dignity. But when the choice is living under a roof (regardless of however many holes it may have) or on the street with the rats, you're getting what you paid for, and if you are ever late, there's always another bum waiting to take your place with a few nuyen in hand.
